Black Creek Strings by Nicolas Hambas - A reader, Eva, put me on to this dulcimer and I think you would be well advised to give it serious consideration. The workmanship is excellent and the price is refreshing. Nicolas has sound files on the site of the dulcimer that are very helpful to really appreciate the quality of the instrument he builds. There is also a link to instructions for building your own dulcimer stand out of PVC pipe. A lot of information is on the site so make sure you browse around.

Dusty Strings (Rich preferred this dulcimer) R. L. Tack & Sons (used my Michael Aukofer, a member of the ragamuffin band)
Plans to build your own Hammered Dulcimer Stand. I built one of these with my daughter at Christmas to use with the hammered dulcimer she had received as a Christmas gift in 1999. It cost about $20.00 for parts at the local hardware store and took us about 45 minutes to cut, drill and assemble. It's a good choice for a first stand because you will discover what you really want in a stand after using it for a while.
